Organic Farms and College Campuses

It seemed when we wrote about Yale University and their sustainable food project, we were just starting to hear about college students wanting more than just pizza and beer. But student-run farms are starting to become more and more popular across the country with almost 60 schools in 27 states participating, and farm sizes ranging from a half acre to 200. And what we are seeing even more of is the amount of colleges and universities who are supporting their local farmers. From Oregon to Rhode Island sustainable agriculture is being viewed as a great opportunity. We think that this is just another example of how the food movement is moving to not only organic, but locally grown as well.
