Our own Pablo posting a great insiders look on how to get chicks, and over at Planet Green I've shared my experiences of backyard chickens as an unexpected form of bug control. but for newbies to chicken keeping, getting set up can be an intimidating process—luckily the video below gives you a step-by-step guide on how to build your own chicken coop.

Created by the Urban Conversion—the same folks who brought us an interview with a top-bar hive beekeeper critiquing the commercial bee industry—this video offers a pretty easy-to-follow walk through of building a small, home-scale chicken coop.

Chicken Coop Plans Available Soon
Created with Chuck Wempe of Funkis Chicken Coops, Rodman builds the coop in one day using both reclaimed and new materials. According to the Funkis website, they are working to make downloadable plans available for purchase online very soon. In the meantime, this video is a good place to get you started.
