Kitchen Products

  • Milk- Cleans patent leather and can repair fine cracks in china. To repair cracked china, boil in milk, as the milk reacts with the kaolin it sometimes will have enough of a reaction to pull the crack together.
  • Wine Bottle- Place inside boots to help them maintain their shape.
  • Honey- Dab on pimples as an overnight blemish cure.
  • Banana Peel- Polishes leather shoes, removes warts, and cleans CD's.
  • Quaker Oats- Mix with water, heat until warm, and dip hands in for arthritis relief.
  • Gatorade Sport Drink- Drink 16 ounces to relieve a migraine headache.
  • Dawn Dish Washing Detergent- Makes a great flea killer for dogs. Removes ice from steps when mixed with hot water and will not refreeze.
  • Old Grocery Bags- Makes a great stuffing material for craft projects and they have always been a favorite toy among the cat community.

  • Mayonnaise- Relieves sunburn pain.
  • Marshmallows- Keeps brown sugar from drying out.
  • Table Salt- antiseptic mouthwash, freshens waste disposal, pulls spilled wine out of a table cloth, and makes a great natural wash for hard to clean vegetables (lettuce, spinach, etc.).
  • Olive Oil- Removes paint from the skin and controls frizzy hair.
  • Olive Oil (1 cup) and Horseradish (1 tablespoon)- Aching muscle relief.
  • Vinegar- Helps heal deep bruising, kills weeds, and makes a great window cleaner.
  • Vinegar (1 tablespoon) and Honey (1 tablespoon)- Great for sore throat.
  • Vinegar, lemon, and Baking Soda- Natural bleach for your laundry.
  • Lemon- Soothe soar throat and sanitize a wooden chopping block.

  • Aunt Jemima Waffle Syrup- Makes a great hair conditioner.
  • Olive Oil- Removes make-up, moistens dry hands, shaving lotion, and makes a great multi-use oil for creaks and squeaks around the house.
  • Aluminum Foil dipped in Coca-Cola- Removes rust from chrome, and polishes aluminum.
  • Wet Tea Bags- Helps sooth burns, removes circles around the eyes, and can be placed inside toilet deodorizer container as a natural way to keep toilets smelling fresh.
  • Baking Soda and Water- Removes crayon from walls, unclogs the drain, and makes a decent toothpaste.
  • Popsicle Sticks- Great for smoothing caulking around windows, bathtubs, etc.
  • Tomato Paste- Natural acids help bring painful boils to a head.
  • Kool Aid- Also serves as a multi-purpose dye.
  • Used Coffee Grounds- Abrasive cleaner, Freezer deodorizer, insect repellent, garden mulch, and brown dye.
  • Heinz Ketchup- Cleans tarnish from copper.

  • Bread- Picks up small shards of glass in a pinch.
  • Potato- great for removing a broken light bulb receptacle and can also be used to highlight gray hair.
  • Pasta Strand- Light pasta with match and then use pasta to light a hard to reach candle.
  • Empty Plastic Bottles- Bury in garden up to their neck and they whistle when the wind blows, frightening scavengers away.
  • Old Whisk- As a nifty way to store cotton balls on the bathroom sink.
  • Cornstarch- Works similar to baby powder and also makes for a sexy, silky massage.
  • Club Soda- Helps loosen rusted bolts.
  • Coffee Filters- Make great packing buffers for china and ceramic dishes and also works as a great camera flash diffuser in a pinch.
  • Coffee Can Lid- Slip the handle of a paint brush through a slit in order to reduce the chance of drips falling on you or your floor.
