Rising temperatures are actually forcing more glacial ice into the ocean, effectively increasing the iceberg population but this increase is not sustainable. We learned that the lifespan of an iceberg in the ocean is only about three years. Once their source, the glaciers, which take millennia to form and march to the sea, are gone, no new icebergs will be formed.
