Seriously. A lamp that works only with a drop of your blood. What an item to have at your Halloween party! Luminol is the secret ingredient behind the glow. It's a chemical forensic scientists use to check for blood, glowing bright blue when coming into contact with the iron in red blood cells. Intended to be a statement about conserving energy by realizing the cost of powering devices, it really ends up being a gross-out concept light. And it certainly is a good start to this slideshow of gross, creepy and strange ideas and devices.
