A future populated by robot armies working tirelessly to complete our most mundane jobs is a staple of science fiction. Increasingly, however, engineers, inventors, and scientists are developing robots that could make such a vision a reality. Many, and not just those actually made from trash, have big implications for the environment as well. Indeed, they could be our allies in a bright green future but only if they don't take over first.
