Best Electric-Assist Bike: Pi (aka Electrobike)
Now, we'd be the first to admit there are probably heaps more ergonomic (and affordable) electric-assist bicycles on the market, yet it's hard to go past the Pi for sheer pizzazz. It will turn heads and get tongues wagging wherever it goes. Which is precisely why we're showcasing it here. How are we going to get folks to consider the idea that you can bike to work without working up a sweat and a sticky shirt collar if they don't know that electric-assist bicycles are an option? Or that they even exist? Other power-assisted bikes hide their light under a bushel by concealing their battery and such forth into a relatively standard bike frame. The Pi (previously known as the Electrobike), however, screams, "Look at Me!" It sure starts a conversation. It may not be an end point for all riders, but at least it gets brains a-thinking, "Hey, you know, biking could be fun!" --Warren McLaren
