Comedy Central/Screen capture

On the heels of collecting over 600,000 signatures from citizens opposed to the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, author and environmental activist Bill McKibben took to the Colbert Report to discuss why the project should be shut down. Stephen Colbert, aping any rightwing pundit worth his salt in Big Oil sycophantism, is of course in favor of as much dirty oil as possible. Hilarity ensues.

Watch:

An amendment added to a Senate transportation bill would allow Congress to approve the pipeline, which is what spurred the massive online signature drive instigated by a coalition of environmental groups.
