Activists Break Up a UK-Canada Tar Sands Meeting with an "Oil Orgy" (Video)

Two environmental activists took a very different approach from those who hit the White House in August to protest mining of Canada's tar sands for oil. They interrupted an energy summit with British and Canadian officials, stripped down to their undies, covered themselves in "oil," and made out.

The man (in Union Jack underwear) and the woman (in Maple Leaf underwear and a tank top) leaped on a table during the Canada-Europe Energy Round Table in London on Tuesday. The idea was to represent the unsavory collaboration of the two nations in going forward with a project that has potentially damning environmental consequences.

The debate over the oil from the tar sands in Alberta, Canada has generated a lot of controversy over the past few months. Those against the pending environmental devastation and indulgence of our addiction to oil have clashed with those who see "ethical oil" as the lesser of two evils.

The "orgy" brought the issue, which has faded from the spotlight as the Occupy Wall Street protests spread and devour media attention, back to the forefront in a more graphic way than anyone expected.

Plus, it's funny- with lines like "oh, you're filthy!" and "I'll be your crude boy!" I especially like this exchange:

GB: Wait, what about science?
CA: I don't care about science!
GB: What about human rights?
CA: Well this is much more ethical than Saudi Arabia!

The stunt was designed by the UK Tar Sands Network, which campaigns against the mining of the Canadian tar sands.
