Over the past two weeks, photographers of all abilities have been submitting entries to a new monthly contest on Sierra Club Trails. The theme of "Orange" has drawn a crazy array of images -- from sunsets, butterflies, fall leaves, to kayaks, cows and centipedes. Now the community is voting for the People's Choice Award winner, and the winner of the Grand Prize -- a Canon G-11 digital camera. You're invited to help us find the winner. You're also welcome to participate in next month's photo contest.
All a Treehugger need do is join the Trails community (a painless process, I promise -- and there's so much fun to be had on the site!) and then check out the Monthly Photo Contest group. You vote by leaving a positive comment on your favorite photos. Our judges -- Sierra magazine art staff and Sierra Club website designers -- will choose the Grand Prize winner from the top five vote-getters, based on the criteria of conformance to the theme, originality, and artistic quality.
Once you're a member of the group, you can submit your own entries according to each month's theme. We'll send you a bulletin letting you know the theme and the deadline to submit your best shot.
Go check out the photos -- I think you'll be impressed by the quality, and by the wide range of subjects that were inspired by the "Orange" theme.
The last time we asked Treehugger readers to submit photos, we were looking for photos from local farmer's markets in order to create a photo map for our Climate Crossroads online community. It turned out really well! Check it out.
And be sure to vote for your favorite interpretation of orange!
