Adrian Grenier Does Your Holiday Shopping, Al Gore Helps 30 Rock Go Green, and More (Video)

Alter Eco star Adrian Grenier and producer Peter Glatzer were put in charge of choosing items for Wired's Go Green category, and came up with a variety of eye-catching environmental gifts, from a lounge chair made from Boeing 727 exit doors to chocolate-covered nuts and from glassware made of upcycled bottles to a solar-powered floor lamp. The store is open in New York City's Meatpacking District Wednesday through Sunday (except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day) from November 21-December 27.

The Peacock Network Unfurls its Green Lineup

NBC's third Green is Universal week brought environmental topics to programming across all the company's networks, from a marathon of eco-friendly Bravo shows last Monday to last night's Thursday comedy lineup that included Dwight's superhero Recyclops on The Office, Jay Leno's interview with Mother Earth, and Al Gore's return on a carbon-cutting 30 Rock. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the former VP's stint as a lightbulb-changing, whale-whispering janitor in the clip above and, below, see Jimmy Fallon perform a one-man concert of green-themed tunes from Amy Winehouse, Green Day, Lady Gaga, T.I. and Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.

Jane Goodall Drops by The Daily Show

Jon Stewart hosted animal activist Jane Goodall on his show this week, discussing all things chimpanzee--from the range of their emotions to the way they greet each other--with the research great, who's promoting her new book, Hope for Animals and Their World. She also talked about the danger of fundamentalists, the birthday-hating extremists who gave her a hard time about using beeswax candles on her cake, and the repopulation of the California Condor--while showing off a feather from the giant bird. Mariah's Animal Magnetism

Mariah Carey has never been known for her subtlety, but these demands are extreme even for her: The UK Telegraph reports that, before agreeing to turn on the holiday lights at a shopping center, the singer demanded she be driven to the podium in a Rolls Royce, showered with pink, butterfly-shaped confetti, and surround by 20 pure-white kittens during the ceremony while 100 white doves were released into the air. While organizers are said to have met her requests for the car, the confetti, and additional security, including the animals was impossible: "We did mange to source the doves that we were going to release into the sky, but the kittens proved terribly difficult. In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety, there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield." Which is just as well--since animals aren't party decorations.
