Colbert Mocks Bonner For Fake Letters That Say No To Climate Action

You may remember that Bonner sent the fake letters from Creciendo Juntos, a nonprofit network that works on issues related to Charlottesville, NC's Hispanic community, and the NAACP. Then more letters were unearthed, including one from a fake seniors organization.

If you freeze Colbert's segment to look at the text of the letter he made up, it reads as the following:

Rep Tom Perriello:

I, an actual real person who exists, am writing to you today to strongly urge to vote against "the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009." It is a threat to our coal industry who employs many Americans. As you must know by now, Clean Coal technologies have made pollution a non-issue. What part of "Clean Coal" do you not understand? It's coal. It's clean. Environmental crisis solved. In conclusion, I definitely could not hold such a strong opinion if I was not an actual person, born of my mother's womb, who verifiably exists on this planet. Thank you for your time. I look forward to a strong "NO" vote on this bill.
