Liberal Media Elites Attack EPA Whistleblower : TreeHugger

Fox News interviewing Alan Carlin. Note her first statement: "Most of us are not scientists. You are." He did not contradict her.

Just two days ago our favorite Member of Congress, Michele Bachmann, was reminding us of how the EPA suppressed reports that contradict the government's position on global warming, writing in the Congress Blog:

Remember when the EPA suppressed an internal report that raised questions about global warming, including whether carbon dioxide must be strictly regulated by the federal government? They couldn't let a little thing like facts get in the way of passing their cap-and-trade national energy tax.

Michele previously wrote in her own blog:

Two weeks before the EPA submitted its pro-regulation recommendation to the White House, the EPA center director suppressed a 98-page report that warned against making hasty "decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data.
Well, now we get word that the EPA may shut down the office in which the internal report originated -- the National Center for Environmental Economics (NCEE).

It seems that if you stand in the way of the EPA and their overtly over-the-top global warming agenda that restricts your use of energy, you're going to pay the price."

The Liberal Media Elites couldn't stand by and let this go unchallenged, and have sent out their most vicious attack dog, the New York Times, to cover a story that has been kicking around since, well, spring, when Grist and RealClimate covered it. The Times writes:

It is true that Dr. Carlin's supervisor refused to accept his comments on a proposed E.P.A. finding, since adopted, that greenhouse gases endangered health and the environment, and that he did so in a dismissive way.
But the newly obtained documents show that Dr. Carlin's highly skeptical views on global warming, which have been known for more than a decade within the small unit where he works, have been repeatedly challenged by scientists inside and outside the E.P.A.; that he holds a doctorate in economics, not in atmospheric science or climatology; that he has never been assigned to work on climate change; and that his comments on the endangerment finding were a product of rushed and at times shoddy scholarship, as he acknowledged Thursday in an interview.

Dr. Carlin remains on the job and free to talk to the news media, and since the furor his comments on the finding have been posted on the E.P.A.'s Web site. Further, his supervisor, Al McGartland, also a career employee of the agency, received a reprimand in July for the way he had handled Dr. Carlin.

Perhaps it is Michele's good work that keeps Dr. Carlin on the job, but it does not seem like he is paying much of a price to me. He has a job, is a hero to the cause of climate scepticism, and is in the New York Times.
