They call it "a new idea in "get away from it all" tourism. Carré d'Etoiles is a tiny vacation prefab that can be dropped anywhere, is designed to "protect the environment" with "designer bio-ethanol heating, recyclable wood, etc."
And every unit comes with a telescope and a star chart.

Of course, it also comes with a flat screen TV, full kitchen with microwave, full bathroom with shower. They have done a great job of squeezing a lot in to a small space.

Love the skylight over the bed.

It is a tight, efficient design.

It is small enough that two can be transported on a flatbed and installed with a forklift.

They appear to be rolling them out all over France. The creators, Louis & Nathalie Blanco, are "pioneers of authentic holidays. They invented, through the Bocages company, " a new type of sustainable tourism by developing concepts combining accommodation that lets you get closer to nature, and high quality hotel services."

Their previous venture, les Roulottes de Campagne, used a trailer design. The new concept offers more height and a more modern design, but I cannot help thinking that the trailer is a lower impact solution. More at Carré d'etoile
