Inspired by Chinese baoding balls, Shanghai designer Jiang Qian has created a kinetic charger concept that juices up your batteries all while fixing that pesky carpal tunnel.
The aptly named Roll Charger harnesses energy from the ball's motion. It converts that kinetic energy into electricity. That electricity is then used to charge a single battery within the ball.

In traditional Chinese medical theory, baoding balls work much like acupuncture or shiatsu massage. They stimulate acupuncture points in the fingers which are connected to organs like the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys, gallbladder, stomach and intestines.
And now they can charge the batteries to your remote control too!

The device fits both AA and AAA batteries. Since two balls are required for stimulating all acupuncture points, you can easily charge two batteries at once. The Roll Charger has LED indicators for when the batteries are fully charged.
These kinds of devices seem to be popping up all over the place these days. There's nightclubs that harness the power of your boogie, even clothing that does it.
Let's pray no one creates a ben wa version!
