Jay Leno likes getting green energy at his garage. Check out this great video in which he and Ken Johnson from Enviro Energies talk about a magnetic wind turbine called the MagWind. He and Ed Begley Jr. will be installing it soon on his garage.

that is awesome! i'd like to see an American company making something similar, but that one sounds great.
Has anyone else been able to find anything about this company? At the moment the site does not exist, and I can't find any solid information about their products except blogs specs from two years ago and one guys blasting the product claims as impossible: http://www.wind-works.org/articles/Mag-WindPyramidalPower.html
Here is the mag-lev turbine company's website:

I happened to "scoop" the treehugger news team on this one thanks to being a subscriber to Ed Begley's e-newsletter. :D
Don't mag-lev arrangements use electricity to generate the EM force? I'd like to see an independent EROI analysis on this. Actually, given the questionable reviews from engineers and industry analysts on the design and the company, I'd like to see an independent review of the whole thing. Hollywood types aren't scientists and aren't going to be penalized for throwing their money away like us common folks.
I work in a field related to the “big” wind industry, and I referred Mag Wind to a couple colleagues who know a bit more on the physics side than I do. They said the design is alright, but won’t come close to MagWind’s claimed output. They asked for any independent studies, I informed them there are none. They asked for a spec sheet, I informed them there are none. I then told them to consider UDA and what MagWind calls the Roof Effect. They said that would help marginally, on a good day increase output 15-25%. But not double to triple output like MagWind states. They asked what kind of structure you mount it on, I said a house. They laughed and said “scam artists” as they walked away….
