iGO, as we mentioned last week, is excited about launching a new laptop charger with "green technology" embedded in it to help combat vampire power.

The USB charging ports in the tower don't have the green technology, and when I asked why, I was told that they felt chargers were already efficient enough that it wouldn't justify the increased cost of the product to embed the green technology. Kind of a bummer, since any reduction of wasted energy is a good thing. So I guess for that part, we'll just have to remember to watch for a full charge and unplug asap.
I also asked why the tower was so big, when something like a Smart Strip could be so much more compact. They said it's because people set it up at their entertainment systems a lot, and it looks more like a sleek device than yet another power strip they're trying to hide. That makes sense, but I'm not sure if it justifies the bulk of the device.

At any rate, we're excited to see more of their products get the green technology in them so that eventually, all of their devices will stick a stake in vampire power.
