Choosing accessories for your laptop can sometimes be tough. You may want to choose the greenest option possible, and yet you don't want to sacrifice style. Sometimes you want to buy whatever is at the closest store because it's easy. But there are some excellent options out there that will make you want to hold off buying whatever is at the ready, and buy something that is most definitely green.
Among these options is this great upcycled laptop bag made by labudde from a coffee sack. Read on for more about this bag and other cool ideas.
We love to see green gadget gear look so great, and this conversation starter is no exception.
From the maker:
This stylish laptop case is made from an upcycled burlap coffee sack (this one says "specialty coffees of india" on it), lined with two layers of cotton felt and edged with colorful contrast piping and contrasting thread. It has a velcro closure and will protect your 13" macbook on your way to and from your favorite local wifi hotspot.
Coffee Bags can make wonderfully hardy laptop cases and this designer shows off the cuteness factor.

This is all well and good, but I don't see any of those bags being very rugged. I would argue that the most sustainable option is to buy a laptop bag that you'll KEEP, not one that you'll get bored with and buy another, be it recycled or no.
My $50 Timbuk 2 laptop bag has been in my messenger bag for years and has kept my Mac safe during two crashes, one where I skidded on my back like a turtle and another where I rolled off the hood of a Hyundai.
I've no idea what products the bag was made of, but I'm going to hold on to it for at least another decade.
That's exciting TeddyFrank, I hope you recovered from your bumps and bruises >.>
I'd rather have a nice tough black bag to carry my laptop in. That won't lose it's novelty and be stuffed into a box with purses from years past.
Not to mention, those just look like sleeves not bags. I see no straps for carrying. And why market/limit to macs only.
they are still very nice for giving out maybe as gifts to someone.

Indeed it does. Shows you are numerically challanged and care more about pretending to be green with silly gestures and "raising awareness" rather than doing something that could actually put a dent into any serious environmental problem.
