FOX News Rants About PETA While Eating KFC

FOX News parodies itself better than any comedian ever could. In what seems too jaw-dropping to be real, the folks at FOX decide to state that all PETA members are ugly, and that kids who encourage their parents to be greener ought to be punished.

From Ecorazzi:

“The greatest thing about this story,” said Gutfeld commenting on two women in bikinis protesting outside a KFC, “is that they claim to be PETA members. I’m sure that if any of us went to an actual PETA meeting, we would not find anybody remotely attractive. They are a bunch of lonely people.”

While passing around a bucket of KFC chicken, Gutfeld responded as to why PETA was protesting saying, “The weird thing about making fried chicken? Chickens die in the process. It’s really hard to keep them alive while you eat them.” Really, Greg? Is that the reason? That’s some fine balanced reporting.

From Earth First:

Then there’s his comment about us crazy environmentalists who “think the environment is more important than humanity”. What Greg Gutfeld and the other smug assholes sitting around this table don’t seem to get is the fact that, without a healthy environment, there can be no humanity.

These two blogs have summed it up perfectly. The only thing left to ask is: Really? Was it really necessary to scarf on a bucket of KFC during that? Talk about the straw that broke the camel's back...not that we should care about camels' backs - they're just dumb labor animals.

And all this layered over their effort to green up, and Rupert Murdoch even making it onto our Green CEO list. Bummer. Perhaps this is simply their attempt at balance.

Wow, that's impressive. I can't express how ridiculous that show was.

LOL! This is hilarious. I hate fox news with the one exception of this clip. They are stretching the tie between animal rights and environmentalism. Save the environment! (but still eat your chickens)

jump to top Jeff says:

That's insane. The sad part is people listen to idiots like that.

jump to top Chris says:

Quite frankly I am appalled and Pissed off. Another Reason I don't watch the National News Channels. I think this calls for a major letter writting campaign Let them know we don't appreciate their smug arrogant attitudes.

jump to top Urban_Forager2009 says:

Really, is anyone surprised that Fox is ranting about another extremist group? I think that its very much along the line of the pot calling the kettle black when it comes to unsavory practices.
Rolling my eyes and getting back to work now...

jump to top Azhure says:

What can you expect from Fox News? These people have a total disregard for our environment. They should be forced to live in low laying areas that will be the first to be affected by global warming and only then they will have some credibility when they suffer the consequences of their words and actions. They don't make any effort to provide balanced news, it is the mouthpiece of the right wing ignorant selfish population.

jump to top Ricardo Duarte says:

I think you guys are overreacting. Greg Gutfield is like the comedian dude on the show and most people who watch the show regularly know that.

Lighten up. People are going to eat chicken regardless of what you say or do. Sorry.

jump to top Bryan says:

This makes me sick to my stomach. "Army of eco children on the rise"? We should be so lucky.

jump to top texasjenny says:

these people are just ignorant and so sure of themselves that they will say anything. that guest guy is an idiot, i just want to smack the crap outta him!

jump to top Nick says:

That reminds me. I made a new year's resolution to go to KFC at least once a month, just because I can't stand PETA.

jump to top Some Guy says:

This isn't the first time FOX News has been tied to KFC in rebuke of PETA:

The video makes me more committed to animal rights and humane farming. You don't have to be a vegetarian to be an environmentalist. Yet to overlook the cruelty doled out to animals in the name of food is, for me, difficult to resolve. Activism by diet is a great way to say NO to standards less than acceptable. PETA has a nice video about KFC's treatment of chickens, which if viewed in the context of FOX News, makes their true nature more obvious: www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com

Ignorance?
Al Gore with a Nobel Prize.

FOX is just a counterbalance to CNN and the New York Times... the liberal elite media and the liberal regular media. They say the same stuff just leftsided instead of right-sided.

Green?? Oh please, just consume less and consume it smarter.

Global warming?? Geez it's freezing over here!!

mmm... now I'm hungry for some fried chicken.

jump to top Bill says:

It's easy, folks. Don't give them the publicity. Don't watch the TV ever even to laugh at their stupidity. No ad dollars = no business. I deleted all the news channels from my TV so that I can never accidentally stumble up on them. The internet is a better medium for news. You can select to read/watch what you want and close the browser if it gets annoying.

jump to top Ashwin says:

Stuff like this just further validates my choice to block Faux News Channel from my TV's. "Fair and Balanced" my rear end.

Hey I just watched your clip on the Chicken Peta Chicks and this was was one of the most incredibly ignorant clips I have seen. Your clip and I guess show is like a whole new series of Anne Coulter's sh*t. Greg wow, you are one smug guy thinking we can have humanity without a healthy environment, and even if we went to the moon or to mars we would still need a functioning ecosystem that had a healthy environment in order to live. Too much to say in response to this video. Also why don't you allow comments on your videos, are you afraid of what people think? (check your rating for that video as an indication). With those words and attitude I find you akin to a terrorist, misguided, afraid your way of life will be threatened, and a time-bomb ready to destroy. Why don't you spread some more hate and ignorance so more people can respond and have you pulled from everything. I hope you personally fail in life, and that you do have children so you can watch them die of cancer and disease as a result of the kind of ignorant and unhealthy world your promoting. Scratch that I would never ever want a child to be harmed to seek retribution on anyone. Grow up, be a responsible world citizen, and work for a better future, you have an opportunity to influence and touch many, many people, so do the right thing. And no I don't support PETA I only support responsibility and care for everything around me, which happens to expecially include the environment.

jump to top Geoff says:

I think everyone by now knows that Fox News isn't news. It was kinda funny, even though I feel like beating them with that KFC bucket.

jump to top paul says:

Red Eye is really, really funny.

jump to top Wreck Gar says:

This sucks. I can't believe a second rate eco-terrorist group like PETA would even rate a blurb on a morning new show.

If they have to talk about PETA they could have at least worn leather jackets and furs while eating chicken.

jump to top bob says:

The one consoling point is that, humorously enough, no POINTS were made on the entire show. If you are going to attack someone and their viewpoint, you need to do so in a way that makes your own viewpoint appear to be correct. I wouldn't say that PETA is entirely effective at doing that, but they are doing a heck of a lot better than those pundits on the couch!

jump to top Sirerdrick [TypeKey Profile Page] says:

Joke or not, this is just sending the absolutely wrong message.

PETA's efficacy and message is debatable, but the benefit of recycling and the fact that having children is an inherent impact on the environment? I hope no one thinks those are debatable! Of course, I know there are plenty that do. No thanks, in part, to buffoons like this guy. Fine, don't recycle and have 6 kids, but please be fully aware of what you're doing and your selfishness in doing so.

And the eating chicken part was absolutely distasteful. Why not present some valid arguments rather than just being a plain prick?

dear god,

my Christmas wish is that you will take this people from fox news away and forever hold them in a little jar as small as their humility, intelligence or conscience. you may actually have to invent atoms smaller than hydrogen in order to do that...

it is the only news network that continually insults and belittles the believes of people that are different from themselves. if it was not illegal they would have referred all the different racial groups with pejorative ethnic slurs...

You cannot possibly wake up to a better world if you wake up to fox news every morning.

jump to top dear god says:

Funny? Well maybe.

Scary? Yes, for sure!

jump to top Rosseau says:

What does PETA have to do with green-dom, exactly? The only time they give a rat's butt about the environment is when it suits their agenda, which has absolutely nothing to do with the environment or conservationism. While whinging about global warming, they're also advising people to wear vinyl and purchase products containing palm tree oil.

jump to top Syera says:

No. It was not necessary. Can we please banish them all to the Maldives? Or the moon?

jump to top Jikki says:

On the plus side - Faux does give it's advertisers (KFC in this case) good PR for their advertising dollars.
On the downside - so much ignorance and stupidity masquerading as a current affairs program.
I wonder what odds the bookies are offering on PETA outlasting KFC as a brand...
