For someone who works from random locations, and is lucky to find a decent flat surface upon which to set up a laptop, I was happy to see this product on the radar.

The laptop table is pretty expensive, coming in at $98, but ranks high in eco-friendliness, making the price worthwhile.

It’s made of organic cotton and hemp canvas, filled with buckwheat hulls, and topped with bamboo plywood. It can also be used as a short stool for yoga, according to the website. Handy. It definitely beats a piece of plastic filled with some non-biodegradable ickiness.

So if you’re in the market for a handy lap desk, this is one of the most eco-friendly options we’ve seen so far…well, other than your lap.

I wouldn't use a laptop desk that might insulate against heat dissipation as this one might.

I use the iLap. Costs half as much and works better (vis-a-vis the heat problem).

May not be quite as green in it's own construction, but think of the un-Green-ness of a shortened laptop life due to operating always at a higher ambient temperature.

Also there's definitely something to be said for the desk's usefulness sans laptop. A laptop's already pretty versatile, but sometimes a good writing surface can be hard to find.

$98 is too high a price in this economy. Also the heat dissipation is an issue.
