The Pot Plate is Perfect for One Pot Meals
by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 11.18.08

On Planet Green, Kelly is cooking up a series of one pot meals. She tries to find cooking techniques and recipes for people without a lot of time (who usually buy too much takeout) or money (not uncommon these days) so these meals are "fast, easy, nutritious, delicious and cheap."
What she and her readers need is the Pot Plate, designed by Joong-Ho Choi & Hyun-Soo Choi to reduce the number of dishes and the space required for them all. You cook your food inside and used the compartmentalized lid as a serving tray.

They have thought of almost everything; the knob is a timer, it has a potstand built in, and a divided plate. Build in a rice-cooker type heater and it is almost an entire kitchen.

How odd, just a few days ago I was searching in vain for exactly this type of device. Since I tend to eat many things that could all be cooked in one place I wondered if something like this existed so I didn't have to resort to the microwave unless I wanted to clean half a dozen dishes after.
Unfortunate that it's just a design and not buyable. I would however remove the compartments on the inside of the lid, fairly unnecessary and would make cleaning a pain.
I kind of like it. So it doesn't have its own power built in right? not sure about the handle on top, I think its only there to introduce the timer, you could stack things on top if that wasn't there, or fit it into a smaller cupboard.
is it made with Bisphenol-A laden plastic?
Definitely something I could utilize in my cramped apartment!
