The Japanese have had the most environmentally-freindly solution to hand drying for decades. Bathrooms there don't have paper towels or hand dryers. Everyone carries pocket handkerchiefs and uses them to dry their hands, to wipe off sweat during the hot, humid summers, and to hold their hot cans of coffee from the ubiquitous vending machines in the winter.
