We brought you the Vaynerchuck video tip on car-pooling here, now this video contains Gary's extended musings. Sitting down for lunch at Cookshop on Manhattan's east side, Gary Vaynerchuk shares his passion for car pooling and suggests that the susty life begins by making small changes in your everyday life. Gary also educates us about the wine industry's rising eco-awareness. The conscious consumer may now purchase wine in Tetrapaks -- paper-based containers that are easier to recycle than glass, lighter and require far less energy to transport & distribute, and do not affect wine quality (yum!). Also, Gary discusses biodynamic, organic, and "terroir" or earthy-flavored wines, and critiques a bottle for us 2004 Le Rouge-Gorge, by vintner, Eric Nicolas, Coteaux du Loir, France, Imported by Louis Dressner Selections.

In short, drink local, from glass--three cheers for the first winery to refill bottles.
Aren't Tetrapacks a lamination of paper, aluminum foil and plastic that is very difficult to separate and reuse? Maybe you can cut them open and use them as roof shingles?
Lot's of smaller wineries in Europe will refill you empty bottles at the farmhouse door. Also, they recycle their own bottles locally.
With better viniculture and global warming, I'm looking forward to a Bordeaux-like climate and quality local wines coming my way soon.
Hey, how about some better more enegy saving tips!
Such as:
1. Turn the power supply switch off to your entertainment center! Sure everyone turns their tv and surround sound, radio, dvd player's off when they're not using them. But, did you know that in fact, they're still consuming a lot of energy.. How? It's simple, what keep your clock functioning correctly to the exact time on the above mentioned? Electricity..
2. What are you doing exactly right now? reading this comment, well duhhh! Well, before you sign off for the night - save, shut down - kill power switch = conserve!
3. SAVE$$$
Final thought, If everyone in world followed these steps, that would create a dramatic effect our carbon footprint!
