TreeHugger Founder Graham Hill Interview on Elephant Journal
by Christine Lepisto, Berlin on 07.20.08
If you haven't met TreeHugger founder and fearless leader Graham Hill, the man who first mated the words "green" and "aspirational", here's an opportunity. Check out Graham being interviewed by Waylon Lewis on elephant journal's elevision.
And if you know Graham, here's an even better opportunity: see the G-man wearing something other than jeans and a T!
From the trailer for the video at elephantjournal:
"Years ago, back in the dark days of pre-Green Fad-dom (2004), our smoggy future looked black. Four years later, (as you’ve heard) Green is the new Black. What happened?
"A significant player in our society’s shift has been Graham Hill’s Treehugger.com—a popular web site whose modern, hip, thorough approach to environmentally-responsible journalism helped catalyze the momentum that came out of Gore’s Inconvenient Truth—and turn our nation’s newfound inspiration into practical, effective action.
"Now, Treehugger’s joined up with the Discovery Network to launch Planet Green, the first 24-hour eco-focused TV channel—and the dream home if ever there was one for yours truly—’elevision’—elephant journal’s fun, yet fundamentally serious talk show.
elephant journal’s editor-in-chief, Waylon Lewis, asks Graham how and why he’s done so much—what’s next—and, in a coarse attempt to curry favor in Planet Green’s circles for his nightly talk show, ‘elevision,’ slips Graham a fiver. "

Waylon Lewis and the entire team at Elephant and Elephant Journal's Elevision is giving the world a gift. TreeHugger + Elephant...two great tastes that taste great together!
Elephant + Treehugger = Divine cosmic collision. Soon we'll be able to tune in to Elevision on Planet Green. I might have to get a television.
Great to see two of the finest content producers of today in the same post. TreeHugger is getting the word out already while Elephant is about to explode. Elephant Journal and the Elevision videos on its website offer today's visionaries and tomorrow's leaders in a totally original way. I hope this is just the first of many collaborations between the two.
So cool to see Graham on Elevision! It's exciting to me to see media transformed for the greater good in a genuine way, as the Elephant and Treehugger.com continue to do. Let's face it, the "green" movement and the "mindful" movement are really about the same things; taking care of ourselves and our world.
Graham and Waylon, Thank you both for your aspiration, perspiration and dedication!!!

The world needs more Grahams (a beautiful name), especially more like Graham Hill. Thanks to Elephant Journal, a great up and coming magazine for modern times, for introducing me to a man I hope to hear more from in a greener future.
To bad the name Graham Greene has already been made famous by the author...he could just drop the extra E.

Brilliant!
Elephant is a good mag. Thanks for this
Elephant rocks! Nice work Way.
Making an underground or grassroots movement mainstream should be the primary goal. Obviously, treehugger.com is leading the charge and growing the green revolution. Elephant journal has this great ambition to approach from a "mindful" angle, encompassing the eco-ethos, too. Graham's comments about being "aspirational" are right on target: create the impulse in people to aspire to living compassionately; create the sense of ownership in people that will make them act on their own and evolve the movement into lifestyle.
I love this interview!
Good Shit!
Go Waylon!
Smart questions, interesting answers, good for the eyeballs and the brain.
Thank you!
Elephant again lifts his trunk and points the way. Thanks to Way, Heather and crew for your vision and dedication.
great to see this interview up at treehugger. All of the elevision videos I've seen have been similiarly informative while being so enjoyable and fun to watch. happy to see the two green sites I hit most regularly, elephantjournal.com and treehugger, together! The connections are so key.
Graham Hill is amazing
I wish that more people would use their power, influence and money for the greater good of humanity.
We should all try to help and set the green trend any way that we can!Tag treehugger and planet green on facebook if you have it.
buy the cups and books.
!
The other idea is that we should start to hold other people accountable for their actions because accountability really helps change.!
If every time that a person went shopping and used a plastic bag someone else conversed with them about the effects
of plastic on the planet would that person continue to do so?
pass it forward! Set the green trend! Hold others accountable for their actions.
Let's Get some more momentum into this thing.!
suggest more interviews to other websites. !
solve the problem!
Once again, great interview Waylon; so great that we've posted it to our online magazine, eCoTimes (Thanks to both Elephant AND TreeHugger, we're on our way to starting a real eco-revolucion.
