Want to see an environmentally friendly shoe with a small carbon footprint? Check out the new TreeHugger Sneaker!

Social Media blogger, AJ Vaynerchuk, has an on-going series of posts that combine two of his favorite things: social media websites and colorful sneakers! He’s been busy making fantasy shoes for some of the biggest social media sites online and he just posted the one he made based on TreeHugger.

Okay, we admit it, these shoes don't really exist and may not be your style. (And maybe you’ll think that’s a good thing if you’d rather read TreeHugger instead of wearing it on your feet!) But they are fun and got us thinking again about what environmentally friendly shoes were available. Check the bottom of the post for links to our recommended environmentally friendly shoes.

And if you like social media websites, go check out the TreeHugger sneaker and also see the designs he made for Digg.com, StumbleUpon.com and the rest of the designs he made for other Web2.0 sneakers.

And if you’re not already using social media sites, now is a great time to start! Social media sites allow you to share stories you think are important or enjoy with your friends, family and contacts you make on the sites (like the folks in our forums). Sign up for a free account at the one of the sites above and when you like a story you see on TreeHugger, PlanetGreen or any other site online, you can use the ShareThis buttons at the top of each post to easily share it with your contacts on those sites. And if you have questions about how best to use social media sites, don't hesitate to post them in the comments.

We need AJ to design etown sneakers. Eco etown kicks would be so fresh!

This could be a funny idea for a gift. Customized shoes should be sold more.
