Brooklyn Summer Celebration for Kids Gives Away Bike Safety Helmets and Teaches Littlest TreeHuggers to Ride
The DUMBO Brooklyn Improvement District strikes again, this time encouraging the littlest TreeHuggers to take root as the next generation of bike-riders on the rapidly-becoming-cycle-friendly avenues and by-ways of New York City.
Three-hundred-fifty plus were in attendance at the Pearl Street Triangle over the weekend for the Summer Celebration for Kids. The NYC Department of Transportation gave away 200 neato green-o safety helmets, over 60 kids learned how to ride with Bike New York and had their bikes inspected by Recycle-a-Bicycle, while the raffle raise $220 for Recycle-a-Bicycle’s summer employment program.

Also, Paint Across America worked with the kiddies to make a mural that will find a permanent home at PS 307.
