Stilvoll's Amazing Transformer Stand-up Desk

I have been walking or standing for three days, and am working at TreeHugger founder Graham Hill's stand-up desk. True to his "less is more" aesthetic, Graham does not own a chair or stool, and my feet are killing me. Nonetheless, I have always wanted a standup desk, they are purported to be good for your back and for your productivity, and as an architect, that is how I used to draw.

Stilvoll of Germany makes one of the nicer ones I have seen, that has an unusual method of height adjustment, a pop-up sloping writing desk, pullouts and hidden trays, cable management and absolutely stunning workmanship. When my feet recover from this trip I want one. Video demo after the jump.

impressive design...but how is it green in any way? no sustainable materials, that's for sure.

Wish there was more video of the desk and less of the designer... Hidden camera?

Was the cameraman smitten with the demonstrator? Saw much of his lovely face, but little of the stunning desk he was presenting...

LA: I have had the camera for exactly 36 hours and thought that I had to be up close and in his face to get the sound. the desk was big enough that I thought I could not back up far enough in such a busy place. I am learning on the job and hope to do better next time, I agree with your comment.

Anyone know where I could find information about purchasing this desk? It is EXACTLY what I am looking for

Lovely desk. I don't however quite understand the "adjustable" aspect as to height. Looked to me as though I'm to take a hand saw out and cut the table to which ever height I wish - one time adjustment only!

This is a nice desk. There is also a very wide variety of standup desks, handmade by Amish craftsmen, at www.standupdesk.com I highly recommend them.

Stilvoll can be contacted directly at infor@stilvoll.de.

Agree - I've been looking for something like this for years.

I've contacted these guys several times by e-mail, even by phone, and they haven't contacted me back. Person I reached on the phone at their HQ in germany said she couldn't tell me anything and please e-mail info@.

Does anyone know if they have a US distributor, or know the rough price?

Many thanks
