Answer: A)
In 1983, a temperature of -128.6 °F (-89.2 °C) degrees Fahrenheit was recorded at the Russian Antarctic research base in Vostok. What makes this spot in particular so cold? Probably Antarctic's legendary Katabatic winds, masses of air that literally fall off the continent's high inland plateau toward the sea at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour, have something to do with it.

Considering the global nature of this blog and the fact that much of the content is created in Canada, would it not be more appropriate to have the temperatures listed in Celsius with the Fahrenheit equivalent in parentheses.

Having lived in the subarctic and tropics for 3 years each I'm very aware of the weather but I have no idea what you are asking.

What is a degree F?
