The Petaluma Prius-Killer is on the Loose!

Prius fender damage

In other news, there is one (or many) vandals that have something against Toyota Prius hybrids in Petaluma, California. The Press Democrat reports that there has been six police reports of Prius hybrids being damaged in the past two weeks, and there might be cases that haven't been reported.

Five of the cars were parked on the West side of town, and in most cases a brick, hammer or rock was thrown through a window, while one time, a fender was dented. If you live in Petaluma and have a Prius, stay vigilant! And if you are in the area and know anything that could help with this case, you can let the police know at 778-4372. ::Vandals strike 6 hybrid cars, via ::Prius pillage pre-meditated in Petaluma

And just why is this news?

I didn't know that Exxon or Mobil had an office in Petaluma

It was only a matter of time before there would start to be a backlash against environmentalists... who I have been warning, are being perceived as advocating a one world order to solve what some beleive is an orchestrated global warming crisis justifying international socialism, as again perceived by those who see someone like Gorbachev, ex-Soviet leader and KGB honcho, head of GlobalGreenUSA as having undo influence in Hollywood.

I put these questions a few years ago to Matt Petersen at GlobalGreenUSA, but he wasn't ready to hear it yet, because he didn't really understand the politics... he didn't spent 10 years researching the philosophies of conspiracy theorists, millions of Americans have seen the documentary Zeitgeist, and how that relate to radical groups, both on the left and the right.

I think we're going to see more questioning of the environmental agenda, especially in light of articles blaming ethanol production for aggravating hunger... when we all knew ethanol a-la Monsanto, was the wrong way to go... everything is about to get more complicated, as usual... and the Prius, being the symbol of the eco-bobo bleeding heart liberal... is likely to become a target of aggression on the part of misguided youth who only have anger at the system fueling their ego.

"And just why is this news?"

Probably for the same reason that it's news when someone burns down a bunch of hummers. there's an environment angle.

I think I've cracked this one. It isn't vandalism at all. It was just a blind man who didn't hear the Prius there and whacked it with his cane. :)

I vote "Pious Petaluma Prius Predator"...

jump to top Terra Verde says:

Hey Remi, think it more likely that its either some kind of weird initiation ritual/kid prank? Or a disgruntled ex-local Toyota dealership employee? Or one of a million other more likely candidates? Yea, you best keep that tinfoil hat on, them bleeding heart liberal Hollywood ex-communist neo-socialist bent on world domination eco-bobos have ways of controlling your brain when you sleep. :D

I also agree that this is not news. Also, if that image is representative of the damage done to all vehicles, then case closed -- that is definitely damage from a low speed collision (such as bumping someone when you're parking). Need proof? Look at the paint scratches as they trail around the cowl of the car.

It is a person that knows the facts in reality.

a prius- sure it saves you gas
but the amount of greenhouse gasses produced when creating the car, the batteries and the not environmentally friendly products that go into a prius are nothing to congratulate. These cars are not recyclable at all, they create more toxic garbage upon production than an regular car* would produce in its entire lifetime.

go prius buster!

*excluding many models.

Jean, I challenge you to either stop spreading myths or cite your sources so that we can examine them.

jump to top Anonymous says:

Quinn, that picture doesn't seem to come from the story. There are no photos on the source link.

But it says clearly that 6 priuses were vandalized within the same area within two weeks, with bricks and hammers thrown in windows. That's not a random occurance.

It might not be important news, but it's news.

Sounds like the work of al-Queda

RemyC:
The reason why people think that way is because ever since the last oil crisis ended until the one we're in started, the entire environmental movemnt was an anti corporate, anti globalization, anti development left wing movment. It really did a disservice to itself. For example, who wants to reduce oil consumption as much as a classic treehugger--A-rab hatin', flag waving, terrorist shootin' republicans and companies trying to save a buck (and get good PR).

jump to top Dan A says:

Just FYI...

The car pictured was in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM vandalized. I can state that for an absolute fact because it is, in fact, my car.

Someone apparently got sloppy and stole my picture, clipped off the timestamp, and ran with it.

jump to top JC says:

Jean,

You are an absolute, 100% DOPE. I could list the many ways that the Prius is recyclable, but you are so obviously "out there" that it would not matter. How about I just pick the most obvious one: the battery pack. It is, IN FACT, 100% recyclable and IN FACT necessary for you to turn it in upon having it replaced.

Dummy.

jump to top Willy Bio says:

the cause has already been determined for this. the prius saw its own reflection and tried committing suicide. no vandals were involved.
