They must have run out of money before they got to the bottom, but fortunately it is not a long drop from the last tread to the floor below, and there is a rope to help make the leap.

The stairs are part of a rooftop addition by MVRDV in Didden Village, Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

Do they acutally make them with holes, or windows? I like the idea, but they look like dark tunnels to me, not very inviting. With holes there would be a more open design, now they are like blocks, making the room feel smaller.
