Cork Ladders for Hot Pots by Hetta
by Petz Scholtus, Barcelona, Spain on 04. 1.08

Swedish design company Hetta’s favourite materials are cork, leather and wool. We particularly like the corky underlays for pots; one has the shape of a Ladder, and another one is Long and flexible for you to decorate the table in countless ways.
The elegant pieces are practical and fun and look great whether dinner is casual or chic. They are made from 100% natural cork, are therefore fully recyclable and biodegradable and locally produced in Sweden. Also check out the round tablemats and coasters, beautifully printed in different colours. Find your nearest retailer via the Hetta web site or buy Long (28€) and Ladder (38€) at the Matteriashop. This seems like a pretty useless item. Surely we all have old towels, potholders, coasters etc that could work as well, without just buying a new item because it's a bit green.
I love the idea of working from this design concept to make a greener version. Like drilling holes into wine corks and stringing them on cord with big wooden or cork bead in between.
