Three Commercials for the Mitsubishi i MiEV Electric Car

Mitsubishi i MiEV Electric Car Commercial

The Mitsubishi i MiEV is gaining fans outside of Japan; it was well received at the New York Auto Show and many are hoping that the company will keep to its word and launch the small electric car globally. There's even a petition asking Mitsubishi to bring the EV to the US.

The nice folks at Autobloggreen have found Japanese commercials that are, as far as we know, running in Japan. The first two can be found here and the third one here. They're cheesy, but show the car in action and confirm what we already knew (14 hours full charge with 110V, 7 hours with 220, 30 minutes to 80% at charging stations, 160 km range). More captures from the videos after the jump.

Hi there, I hope you will excuse this small intrusion but I'm trying to encourage people to sign this petition that is lodged with parliament, asking that public companies use post-consumer recycled paper instead of paper from trees
It can be found here:
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/post-consumer/

hope this interests you, the full text is as follows:
Adopting a policy whereby all paper used by public companies is post-consumer recycled paper from British sources would: 1) Create an untold number of jobs domestically in the recycling industry. 2) At little inconvenience make a huge leap towards the enironmental sustainability of our county. 3) Be a milestone that made headlines, paving the way for other nations to follow. 4) Set a good example for children in schools, public sector employees, private corporations and other nations. 5) Protect our fragile environment and wildlife, as well as yielding many other benefits.

The current system of take/make/throw away is doing the world little good, destroying the life of humans and animals alike. Cutting down trees to make paper when there are better alternatives results in a reduction in the quality of our air. Sustainable forrests dry the land, robbing it of resources and preventing it from sustaining life therefore they are not an apt solution, neither are many of the recycling processes which use bleach or chlorine, and so it is post-consumer recycled paper (preferably from British sources) which is prescribed to deal with this problem.

thanks very much for your time,

best wishes,

Antony of the Campaign for Integrated Sustainability

jump to top Antony says:

Can you imagine what will happen to the price of current used SUVs and other all gasoline

with fuel prices higher, and better alternatives (within the next 4 to 5 years) we will see prices of used gas guzzlers plummet!

So if you own one, it might be a good idea to sell it while it´s still worth something, and if you are planning to buy one, it might be a good idea to hold on that thought for 24/36 months and confirm (or disprove) the current direction of oil prices/average MPG.

let me put it this way: Would you buy a 21 MPG used SUV with gas at $5.60/gal (my prediction for the next 18 to 24 months) when you could buy a 45 to 60 MPG brand new plug in hybrid?

now that said, supply/demand will make the first mass production plugins to cost way more than they should (look at today´s prius)

It will be a slow but unstoppable process. In 10 years from now we will redefine the auto industry as we know it. Where will you stand?
