Of course it is always best to bring your own chopsticks, but the next best thing is recycling. Shuhei Ogawara, a retired city hall employee in the Fukushima Prefecture, spent three months gluing 7382 used chopsticks into a 66 pound, 13'-4" canoe, and coated it with a polyester resin coat. I don't know if I would want to run it down the Nahanni, but it looks pretty good. Launch is planned for May at Lake Inawahiro. ::Asahi via ::Pink Tentacle

Some guys built a boat from wine corks. I believe they wrote a book about it. They collected used corks for a long time, but half way there a cork manufacturer donated the balance.

Let's hope he used eco friendly stuff to stick it all together.

Of course it is something... he did something, for whatever personally drove him and succeeded.- which is more than you or I did. I do not think he meant to be competing with dutch popsicle sticks only with himself

It must be nice to have a lot of spare time . What else can he build with the chopsticks? How about a eco-friendly house?
