I still don't get it. So we have someone go through a lot of trouble to make something ugly and cluttery - a brain-shaped lamp - and call this new type of pointless consumerism 'green'?

Treehugger needs to lay off the "buy more more now now!" mantra. Just because someone used a tiny bit of recycled matierials or did something the tiniest bit green in designing some useless crap does not mean it's green.

We need some standards here.

Consumerism should not be condoned.

You're missing the point- which is the technology which allows a person to create an item in their home, instead of having it shipped to their location, thus saving the fuel and packaging involved in transportation. The raw materials used to create these items can be purchased in bulk and shipped more efficiently than shipping multiple individual items.
