Fun with Vegetables: Unexploded Turnips
by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 03.17.08

Those who try to eat local food at this time of year are getting awfully tired of turnips and look for creative things to do with them. A Fort Wayne locavore has come up with a novel idea- sending it to a lawyer, evidently conveying the message "you can’t get blood from a turnip."
The bomb squad was called in to use a robot, an x-ray machine and a water cannon to determine the contents of the box. No doubt Homeland Security will now send troops into the turnip patches to root out unexploded vegetables, or go after Jasmin for pickling them. ::Journal Gazette via ::Boingboing

People in this country are so paranoid. Humorous.
Sorry, I find no humor in a simulated bomb threat and hope they prosecute the perpetrator.
Yeah, it's always funny when an unmarked box gets left at someone's workplace that has a history of being bombed. Almost as amusing as the death threats, stalking and assasination attempts. As long as the folks at Treehugger get their kicks. Last year my friend had to deal with this crap for 12 years but finally gave up when equally as amusing terrorists started harassing her children because she worked at a place that provided abortions.
Sick fucker.
home town on treehugger...to bad it is for something like this.
This has been an ongoing issue between the clients in the case.
Let it be known that the man is paying for his mistake...
To bad the turnip got blown up...one less turnip that will get eaten locally....
Doug, yet another comment from you that's unnecessary. If you don't like this site go elsewhere.
Glad you think terrorism is funny "Doug the original". Maybe once you are on the receiving end you won't find it so funny. My friends and I have been on the receiving end of Christian terrorist acts but I'm sure you are quite brave on the internet.

Yes, because sending a turnip is illegal in all 50 states. If you had actually read the article it was a fully labeled box with sender information on it. The sender info on the box is what prompted them to call the bomb squad. The sender of the package was someone being sued by a client of the law firm's. Although if someone actually did want to bomb them I don't think they would be attaching their real sender information.
