The World Water Day events start today; it is a good time to think about how we use and misuse the stuff. Everyone from TreeHugger to Sonny Purdue has been hawking water-saving tips, from showering with a friend to putting bricks in toilets to rainwater collection to xeriscaping your garden. Looking back at the past year on this World Water Day, have you made changes in the way you use water?

i voted 'i am trying. . .' but i really actually land between this and 'didn't have to. . . '

i am usually careful, but not over-zealous, but if i catch myself being particularly wasteful or careless, i'll stop and try to find another way to do what ever is is.

I'm between significant steps and I'm trying. I'm aware of the issue. But I have to confess that I have a DIFFICULT time giving up long hot water wasting showers.-- I know I know

I have been drinking lots of water for several years now, staying especially hydrated throughout the day, so going without water for more than a short while in any weather, my mouth gets dry. I don't have any intentions to stop this behavior.

I am working hard to reduce my consumption on a daily basis. But I am really working to teach my kids about conservation. It is kind of like please and thank yous after you tell them 50,000 times it starts to sink in!

We have always thought of ways to save water. I have a clothes washer that weighs the clothes so it knows how much water goes in . We have a five minute timer that goes on the wall in the shower. We have no lawn, so there is no watering. We have a small garden, i stand and do that. I saw on t.v. where a pipe can be put in the ground to water the garden so no water gets wasted. We have a water dispenser on the refrigerator. I think we can still improve more.
