Pop!Tech 2008

Our friends at Pop!Tech ("a one-of-a-kind conference, a community of remarkable people, and an ongoing conversation about science, technology and the future of ideas.") are looking for a blogger-in-chief. Could it be you or someone you know? See below for more information.

"Pop!Tech has a fantastic opportunity for a gifted writer to become our Blogger-in-Chief -- and we'd like your help to find the right candidate!

The person we're looking for has a great written voice, strong interpersonal communication and interview skills, a strong work ethic, an abiding, multifaceted curiosity about new ideas in innovation, technology, social entrepreneurship, global trends, the environment, media, and the arts and humanities."

The Blogger-in-Chief (who can be based anywhere!) will shape the editorial voice of the Pop!Tech blog, help us evolve our platform, bring in guest-bloggers, and track the comings and goings of the Pop!Tech community. He or she will liaise to the blogger community, work with international bloggers who cover the conference, and be responsible for 2-3 blog posts per week, live blogging from the Pop!Tech Conference, plus occasional additional writing as required.

This is a terrific part-time gig -- Blogger-in-Chief will get a monthly stipend of up to $1000 (commensurate with experience), an all-access pass to the Pop!Tech conference (valued at $3500), and a highly visible role in the Pop!Tech community -- their posts will get read by some of the most interesting people on earth. Experience with blog-related platform technology, digital media, etc. is definitely a plus.

We expect this to be a commitment of 15 hours or so a week. Interested candidates can contact us at jobs@poptech.org with a cover letter, a few samples, and (of course) a link to their blog!

Please feel free to pass this along! And thanks!
