Pop Quiz: A World of Wind
by Dominic Muren, Philadelphia, USA on 03.27.08

Answer: D "Last year was a record year with wind power capacity increasing by 20,000 megawatts, bringing the world total to 94,100 megawatts. As Jonathan writes, that is 'enough to satisfy the residential electricity needs of 150 million people. Driven by concerns regarding climate change and energy security, one in every three countries now generates a portion of its electricity from wind, with 13 countries each exceeding 1,000 megawatts of installed wind electricity-generating capacity.'"

I think there is a bit of a typo in that question. Is it supposed to be "How many people can currently ACCESS installed worldwide wind energy infrastructure supply?"?
Is there any information that shows how active any particular state is with wind energy?
Thanx Adam. I tripped over that too.
Is that peak, mean, or overall?
This question is poorly phrased. Who are these "people" that serve as the basis for these stats? Americans? Germans? Tibetian monks?
Theoretically, the currently installed wind power base could supply the electricity needs of an infinite number of people - if we were all hunter/gatherers.
