The High Line is an interesting piece of NYC history. More good info is on oldnyc.com and forgotten-ny.com . Now that they have got a cohesive plan going, I hope it all comes together soon.
There is also much existing rail infrastructure in and around NY and other cities that should be re-used to get more trucks off the road.
