Welcome to SustainStyle, a new weekly digest from the writers at 1plus1, a blog dedicated to eco-friendly fashion. SustainStyle will run every Wednesday.

This week we get ready for one of our favorite lovefests: VALENTINE'S DAY! Our "Dress Me" outfit gets us blushing for the annual date night and organic flowers help us set the mood. We also spread the love to fellow blogger TheGreenSet, new high-waisted skinny organic Levis, and the amazing You Bar. New York fashion also captures our attention as we spy DKNY riding bikes and Charlotte Ronson going fur-free.

xo.

I followed your link to "fellow blogger TheGreenSet" - what a fantastic blog.
They will benefit from your recommendation, deservedly.

You recommended us a year ago for which we thank you.

I guess the ad agency that came up with this bike campaign for DKNY never saw that there's a precedence for painted bikes left on the street - the ghost bike. When you see a bike painted white and left on sidewalk or on the shoulder of a highway, it means that a cyclist lost their life to an accident with a motorist.

Brilliant way to get across a message.

And I guess that everybody who's fawning over this retinal burn-inducing orange bike would actually ride one or pay for one. If not then guess where these bikes are going once the campaign is done? Oh yeah, that's going to be real good for the environment.
