We recall Droog Design's 85 lamps chandelier; Now Swedish designers at AWARE reinvent it for the 21st century in CFLs. "Through the AWARE Chandelier we place the low energy lamp, an energy-saving product that are often considered as something ugly and boring, in a new context and present it as something beautiful."
"AWARE is a design oriented research project that aims to increase people's awareness of how energy is being used in everyday life, especially in our home environment. The objectives are to develop strategies and artifacts that make people attentive of their energy use, as well as offer them control and possibilities of making their energy use more efficient."

Finally a useful role for the incandescent bulb!
"The AWARE Laundry Lamp is both a lamp and a washstand. In traditional light bulbs, 95% of the energy is transferred into heat, and only 5% into light. The AWARE Laundry Light gives you the possibility to create your own lamp design and at the same time save energy through hang-drying your clothes!"

" The AWARE Puzzle Switch is an on/off button designed in order to encourage people to switch of their light, by playing with people’s built-in desire for order.
It also gives much more feedback of its current state than a traditional switch."
