The TH Interview: Sheryl Crow
by Jacob Gordon, Nashville, TN
on 01.31.08

It’s been three years since Sheryl Crow’s last album, and the world has changed a lot in that short time. Crow’s new release, Detours, looks at war, oil, and climate change as hard as it looks at love, heartache, and hope. Sheryl spoke to us from her farm in Tennessee where she’s settled with her young son to live a greener, more peaceful life. She told us about her musical inspirations, her time touring with Laurie David and StopGlobalWarming.org, and even sets the record straight about the infamous one-square-of-toilet-paper remark that had us TreeHuggers scratching our heads.

I am very disappointed in Treehugger.com discontinuing, for lack of a better term, their "Tips" broadcasts. I enjoy the interviews, but find most useful the podcasts discussing different green items/applications like LocalCooling.com. Please reconsider this programming change.
I dont care how commercial or promotional it appears, Sheryl Crow has proven she's got a good heart.
SHE SHOULD BE LIONIZED NOT DEMONIZED
It may look like TreeHugging, Its PLANET & MANKIND LOVING
What a great song. She seems to be truly conscious of the problem that is facing the world! I think I will purchase her album, excuse me I mean C.D.
We are lucky to have someone like Sheryl Crow working for environmental issues like global warming. Now she is even writing songs about environmental concerns. Fantastic!
Her music is very good and I am a collector.
Usually, only comedians should attempt humor as none of us is as funny as we think we are and I guess that applies to Sheryl Crow as well and I suppose that explains the toilet paper square. Humor is difficult to pull off.
Sheryl Crow is a very good musician, singer, and songwriter and I will continue to be a fan.
:S
Sheryl Crow has proven she's got a good heart.
I love Sheryl! Her environmental message is huge and important, but don't forget her most important accomplishment: She's got four earrings in each ear! The most important thing a woman can do in terms of her beauty is get a few extra earrings. Sheryl has inspired millions with her incredible accomplishment. Now if only my girlfriend would follow!
yeah, well, I remember being attacked by loggers with baseball bats for protesting clearcuts in the pacific northwest in the early 90s while crow was singing to them in sawmill towns and calling us eco-wackos. I think crow is just going with the flow for the dough.
I am soooooo sick of celeberties telling/advising the rest of us how to live our lives while they live in humongous houses, drive big cars, fly in private jets and etc. Keep it to yourself Crowe! Now where is that role of TP ...I think I need to use the WHOLE thing after reading about her....
Sheryl usually wears 2 hoops on the right and 4 on the left, not unlike Terri Clark.
