Melissa Arrington has nothing on Spanish businessman Tomas Delgado when it comes to being callous and cruel about killing cyclists. He killed 17 year old Enaitz Iriondo with his Audi A8 and had to pay 33,000 euros compensation because his insurance company acknowledged that he was driving too fast, but now he is suing the dead kid's family for causing $20,500 in damage to his audi and another 6,000 euros for the rental while his car was being repaired.

"I'm also a victim in all of this, you can't fix the lad's problems, but you can fix mine," Delgado said, ahead of a January 30 legal decision on his suit. ::Yahoo News thanks, eclary!

Wow, what a swell guy. I wonder if he is single, because I think I might like to date him.

According to the linked article the boy he hit was riding a bicycle at night with no lights, so there was some responsibility on the part of the bicyclist, but to sue his family over the damages to the car is just obnoxious. Way to feel bad about taking a life, accidental or not

I hope he enjoys the die-off.

Lets only hope there is a hell for this guy to end up in someday.

Someone should just make that guy disappear.
Talk about an utter waste of oxygen and too much carbon dioxide... actually the CO2 is coming from the lower part and his mouth smells like methane.

Now I will ride my bike home and hope for the best knowing assassins like that are out there doing their very best.

Good Luck,

vsk

---You misread the article. It said he had no reflective clothing on and no helmet, which is something completely different. The boy was not responsible for his own death. It was the driver's fault.

I live in Spain and often bicycle on the roads here. Too many people drive carelessly and irresponsibly here - way too fast, ignoring traffic signs, driving drunk or stoned, ignoring the division lines on the asphalt, and so on. Unfortunately, it is culturally ingrained. And so there are many, many traffic accidents and deaths. Just the other day a car in some Spanish city was trying to beat a red stop light and ended up speeding into a bus stop, killing a woman waiting for the bus. Pedestrian and cyclist deaths are fairly common. And drivers are fully aware that their irresponsible driving is to blame. A year or so back, a cyclist went missing. There was a massive manhunt. A week later they found his body. Apparently, he had been hit by a car and the car driver hid his body. I don't know if they ever found the killer. Oh, and just so you know, the first thing these driving killers do is show a sense of extreme guilt and shame to get sympathy - always works and they know it because they see how it works on TV all the time.

If he had the money to buy an Audi A8 I don't believe that he has a problem to fix his...

Cost of damage to Audi A8: 33,000 euros
Cost of judgement requested against family: $20,500 + 6,000 euros

Telling the world what a heartless bastard you are: PRICELESS

There has to be enough cyclists on the planet who are willing to teach this little punk a lesson. And his comments? Sweet merciful crap! I hope to God he does the right thing and composts himself. That's about all he's good for.

100% terrible. This adds a whole other level to things you might be afraid of while riding your bike. As if almost getting hit by cars on a regular basis wasn't bad enough!

What ever happened to people and their morals? No sign of remorse? If only it can be said that this guy will never be able to live with the fact here on out that he took a child's life! What a conscience this one has! Shame on him

This guy is unbelievably sick.

He should have to repay the public for this absurd suit. He should serve some jail time a well.

The law in Spain should change.. (am spanish). This dude killd a 17 year boy because he was NOT careful and has the balls to ask money to fix his car??? The law should intervene and send him to jail for murder.
How sad this guy's life must be????

jump to top Nana says:

some good news. Apparently the locals in Spain protested the courthouse in droves about this and the driver withdrew the lawsuit. This "accident", by the way, happened over three years ago. How sick is that?!
