Comedian Living in IKEA for a Week

by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 01. 9.08
Culture & Celebrity (audio video)

We have covered people moving into shopping malls without telling anyone, but comedian Mark Malkoff (famous for 171 Starbucks) actually asked permission- from IKEA. His apartment needed fumigation and all his friends live in studio apartments, so moved in on January 7 and is staying there until the 12th. According to his site he will be "eating all his meals in the restaurant (he may order Domino's take out once or twice). Thankfully they have a shower for him in the back offices."

I love his "Princess and the Pea" sequence, checking out the beds, but were I the manager I would have thrown him out for jumping on the furniture. ::Mark Lives in IKEA

I always labored under the impression that comedians should be, you know, funny?

Ouch! I read the previous comments before actually watching the video and found them a little harsh at first, now I see what they mean. If that was supposed to be a funny segment, I'm not sure where the funny came in.

Also, I'm not sure how this fits into the "green," ideals of TreeHugger.

jump to top Josh says:

seriously - what is this time waster doing on treehugger? well, i suppose it makes me not want to ever go into another ikea and make my own furniture instead, which i guess could be green...

jump to top jm says:
