Hollywood Bike Patrol: Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Family

Brad Pitt takes a leisurely 44th birthday cruise through New Orleans on Tuesday with partner Angelina Jolie, as well as two of the photogenic twosome's children, Maddox, 6, and Zahara, 2.

We're happy to see the kiddies kitted out with helmets, but Mom and Pops appear to have forgotten their protective gear, along with the youngest member of the Jolie-Pitt clan. Shiloh's publicist did not return our calls for comment.

So, what bikes are they pedaling?

With all the media attention over the years given to the particular vehicles that celebrities drive ... determining status and style, shouldn't we be doing the same with bikes to give cycles a sense of legitimacy and respect?

Indeed, we should help establish the cool factor for celebrities and prompt them to support the very cool custom bike builders, such as Vanilla ... check 'em out, they're superbe.

One has to wonder how many cars were in the security cavalcade following/preceding them.

haha yes!! Now we need paris hilton on a bike and cars will be a thing of the past :) I'm curious about the bikes they are on too.

They are on very cool (& inexpensive) cruisers that are not capable of very high speed. Maybe that's why no helmets. Still dumb though, my wife's life was saved by her helmet when she was side-swiped by a speeding car and she was on an almost identical cruiser bike. I'm also surprised that Miss Jolie has a 2 year old in a "baby catapult". Baby seats on bicycles are the most dangerous accessory for bikes (in my opinion). I don't care how good you think you are on a bike, everyone falls eventually. It's a long way to the ground for a little one, even at slow speeds (or my personal favourite - leaving the kid on the bike while it leans on a kick-stand). The best way to carry a child is in a trailer (where Maddox gets to ride). By the way, Pitt/Jolies, that's a 2 seater trailer.

Y'know, to be honest I'm temped to give them a pass, #1 because I love the message of them cycling and #2 because, judging by her facial expression, Angie is obviously not having a great time. Maybe her seat is uncomfortable.

Wow, that he has such a leisurely 44th birthday cruise through New Orleans is really fantastic! I like Pitt. He has such a good looking. One of the best actors in hollywood, I am sure he is! Sexiest Man alive in my heart. I saw a report that says that Angelina gives a birthday surprise for Pitt. God! Pitt is too lucky to be with angelina! The Admirable couple they are! Maybe "Mr and Mrs Smith" is the best title to the couple. You know, they fell in love just because of this movie, it really can bring back many memeories. I really enjoyed watching him work with Angelina Jolie. Last week I happened to find this fantastic DVD "Mr and Mrs Smith": , when I found it, I was very excited. I think with this movie, I can imagine how now their life should be.

Helmets are a personal choice. It's nobody's business but their own.

Amazing how helmet advocates assume the same arrogant attitude as right-wing fundamentalists - looking down their nose at anyone who doesn't adhere to their point of view.

This being treehugger, i have difficulty seeing how helmets are environmentally friendly. Perhaps it would be wise to stick to the environmental aspects of the subject and leave personal choice issues out of it.

They are riding their bikes. That is a good thing. Leave it at that.

Cute Kids(all 4).
Muscle Cars are COOL. These two are way to hard headed to even need a helmet. They should ride around town with Viking helmets just to bust the star gay-zers balls.

Walk or Bike whenever possible, it's far more entertaining than a car.

The main reason to ride or walk in that old city is, "A River Runs Through It". Keep up the good work down there Mr. and Mississ-hippi.
