1000 MW of Solar in the Negev?

We’ve written about David Faiman before and his quest to perfect a system for concentrating solar energy. The Israeli academic claims that, using his designs, an array covering 4.6 sq. mi. in Israel's Negev desert could generate as much as 1,000 MW, or 10% of the country’s energy needs, and he claims the price should be competitive with coal-fired power plants. Now we’ve come across this video on YouTube allowing us to see first hand what the man is up to.
