Working part or full-time from home can be a pretty appealing (not to mention green) way to go, but it can be hard to devote precious living space to a full-on home office. Too often, we find that workspace has to be tucked into a corner of a bedroom, or jammed into a living area.

For those of us who work from home but don't have space -- or don't want to maintain an extra room, just for a home office -- we love the idea of this TV/office wall unit. It integrates work and play into one handy device: when you're working, pull up a chair to the fold-down desk; when you're off the clock, the whole things spins around on its single metal leg, making it quick 'n easy to instantly transform the room. We like the "out of sight, out of mind" component something like this would bring your routine; one caveat: no more watching TV while you work...oh well. We think it'd probably be worth it, given this piece's awesome functionality. ::Gruber + Schlager via ::Trendir

That's a pretty nifty space saving idea that would allow someone to have a smaller more efficient space, but what would be even better is to not have the TV and home theater equipment to begin with. There is already a DVD player on most computers that can be used for movies. Many who work for a living on laptops have an external monitor as well that would be adequate for watching movies, plus there are many options available for watching TV on your computer.

Or you can simply do away with trying to watch anything at all at home and read a book!

So really there is no need for this piece of furniture.

Great idea, but not all that realistic. My office area ends up with a couple of piles of papers. It would be more realistic to have at least a built in file cabinet, in box, and a drawer to store pens and such.

This site is turning more and more into a list of product reviews. A truly sustainable world will be a lot less about pushing such products and more about reducing consumption of all kinds.

Wow, they sure figured out how to waste a lot of space. How much clear floor space does this need to turn around? Guessing the wall is 8 foot wide... pi*4sq= 51sq feet. So you put it in the center of a 10ft*10ft room and likely need to put the chair in the hall to have the space to turn the unit. So much for 'saving space'.

Instead, place the table on the wall. Put the TV on a sheet of plywood and suspend it from the ceiling like a door into the room above. Maybe even put a couple of LED lights on the bottom so they shine on the desk, or when the TV is down it shines behind the TV giving me some indirect lighting. This save space.

Thank You Pan! I was trying to figure out why anyone would describe a big rotating slab in the middle of the room as "space-saving". Glad to see someone else was thinking the same thing.

It is pretty, and an interesting concept, but not very efficient in my opinion.
