Survey: Why Would You Pay More For Green?

2007-11-07_090404.jpgOne worldwide poll recently showed that people will pay more and make sacrifices to address climate change. Another American poll recently found that consumers were willing to pay more to make their homes more green. Running that poll here on TreeHugger is preaching to the converted, but let's do it anyways and find out why you want a greener place to live.

Hmm, that and skyrocketing oil and natgas prices. And "pour encourager les autres". And for the 'pose-power'. I could go on...

Self sufficiency and self reliance. Ever increasing in importance. Also reference the nearby Treehugger article on Coal Power Plant production. We are running out of traditional sources of energy. Both from depletion and an ever increasing population. Even if they end in failure, we should applaud alternative energy efforts. Look at how many failed attempts there were at flight before the Wrights and Bleriot.

Yes, pay more for greening now, when current things wear out. It is an investment.

I'd go with a green home because it's the right thing to do, it would save money over time, I like the idea of being less reliant on nonrenewable resources, it just fascinates me, it's the right example for my kids.

Now I just need the money to quit renting....

I would not mind paying more for "green materials"
and "green energy" as long as there was a TAX discount for purchasing said products / services

e.g. - get 10% off IRS tax return
or something of that nature.
