Survey: What Does Organic Mean To You?

2007-11-02_091946.jpgIt was funny at first to see such a silly product as aerosol pancake batter; less so when one saw the USDA organic label on it. Over in the UK, they have just had a huge issue over whether it was ethical to put the organic label on a product that has been flown in; In the USA they put it on something like this.

Wow... are we really that lazy?? I thought premade frozen waffles were bad enough. When I want waffles and I don't have time to make a batch, I go into my freezer and pull out the ones I made last weekend. Pop 'em in the micro for 30 seconds and BAM! instant breakfast. Probably faster and easier (no dirty pans) than those cans.

what a foolish product.

Ridiculous product, yes. Fair use of the term Organic? Yes.

The term Organic has an established value in the consumer space. Extending the term will only confuse people.

Foolish products should fail... that is, as soon as we can factor in all these pesky externalities into the cost of production.
