SuperGreen Boards: Bamboo Skateboards

Another option for environmentally conscious skater dudes and dudettes: SuperGreen Boards, which manufactures eco-friendly custom longboards, slalom, and speedboards out of bamboo.
For added strength, a fiberglass alternative, made entirely of finely woven strands of bamboo fiber, is bonded to the board using very-low-Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) epoxy. The company says it wants to convert from low-VOC to a soy-based epoxy as the technology becomes available. ::Super Green Boards

good stuff, good to hear that more people are using bamboo in ingenious ways... but Sector9 (skateboard mfg) has been making bamboo boards for about 3-4 years now. bandwagon startup. hope they get some business though.
Also for skateboarders who like to ride standard street style boards; BambooSk8 is a brand new company that is producing bamboo street decks. They are just as poppy as maple but they are stronger and lighter and they are made entirely out of bamboo.
